Big, painful, sad, exciting, thrilling, BIG day! Woke up in the middle of the night with that stupid splitting headache. It felt like someone stuck duct tape on my forehead and was shooting painful blasts of electricity into it. Sounds like fun? It's not. I would roll over and it would stop for two seconds then back again. I slept off and on until I noticed the clock said 8:00am. I couldn't move. I was never so relieved to know the boys were at their Dad's and I didn't have to get up and get them to school. I decided I better take some PTO at work and sleep some more. I finally got up at 11:00, called the doctor begging for something to be called in, and took a super hot bath with lavender.
This is where it gets slightly tragic. The doctors office told me that if I hadn't heard from them by 2:00 they probably called it in for me. At 1:30 I dragged my sorry ass to the pharmacy only to find out they called in something that wasn't covered by insurance. I almost cried. They said they called my doctors office but it wouldn't be resolved today (note: doctors office never called me about any of this) The girl looked at me with such sympathy it made it slightly worse. We compromised with Excedrine Migraine. I bought it. Home. Pills taken. Wait.
3:30 I go to pick up 10 year old and take him to Spanish class. Here we get exciting and thrilling. With migraine under control I drop off kid and go to Bikes to You to discuss me using a little corner of the upstairs. He made an offer I couldn't refuse. Sure there's not heat or air. Sure, there is no bathroom. Bathrooms are overrated. I love this space. I will use it in a parka if need be. I'll pee before I go up to work. It is going to be fabulous.
*picture above shows the building I will so be moving my studio into.
